Season tryouts are held after all high school baseball season activities are completed, typically the week immediately following the Idaho State High School Tournament.
Tryouts are conducted by the head and assistant coaches for each team.
The tryout format is adjusted as needed, but normally players are separated by age group based on the grade they are currently in (or just completed). For example, if you are a senior that is graduating this school year, you would attend the 12th Grade session.
Typical Groups: 12th Grade
11th &10th Grades
9th & 8th Grades
There are normally offense and defense days and pitcher/catcher sessions.
Tryouts are held at Halliwell Park and Hawthorne field. Additional venues may be added as needed.
Players should plan on wearing appropriate baseball clothing, cleats/turf shoes, and protective gear. Plan on bringing all equipment to each session unless otherwise directed during the tryouts.
Tryout sessions are restricted to coaches and their assistants. Parents and spectators will not be allowed to enter the facility during tryout sessions.
Players will complete a short registration form and assigned a tryout number before the first session. The form contains basic player information and is appropriate for a player to complete, so parents are not required to attend. If you'd like to complete the form before coming to tryouts, a copy of the form is posted below.
Detailed schedules, times, and groups will be posted closer to the tryout dates. Watch for information here as well as on our social media platforms.
Team selections will be made as soon as possible following tryouts and are usually posted within one day. Team selections will be posted online and via social media platforms. Player names will not be be used, only tryout numbers, so players should make note of their number to reference later.
